Understand first, then seal

Before any sealant goes in, we know what the joint has to do. How much movement does it have to cope with? Which substrate does the sealant have to adhere to? Is the joint in the sun, or does water reach it?

On alkaline concrete, a silicone sealant that cures with acetic acid can lose its adhesion. And without a backing rod the sealant can adhere on three sides, which builds up too much stress, so the joint can tear as soon as the structure starts to move.

We make those choices up front, not with the sealant gun already in our hand.

Work at home: up to roughly 75 kilometres

We are based in Utrecht, right in the centre of the country. For work at home we drive about 75 kilometres. Driving further is of course possible, but for smaller jobs that is usually not a good deal.

Sealing a shower drain, for example, is done within half a day. If we have to drive two hours there and two hours back for that, there is more time in the journey than in the work. In the end you pay for that travel time, and we think that is a waste of your money.

For projects across the Netherlands

With larger projects it is different. Hundreds of metres, a complete facade or planned maintenance on a block of homes? Then we come anywhere in the Netherlands. On work like that the travel time hardly counts against the size of the job.
