What we place
If you say nothing, or say no, this site places one cookie, and it serves only to remember what you choose below. Nothing goes to Google in that case: the measurement script is not even fetched.
If you say yes to statistics, two Google Analytics cookies are added. They are listed further down by name and retention period. There is no advertising script and no chat window belonging to another company.
The fonts are hosted on our own server, so your browser makes no connection to Google for them. If you say yes to statistics, it does make one, to fetch the measurement script.

Necessary, and therefore without asking
For cookies that are needed to make the site work, nothing has to be asked. That is what the law says, and it would be odd otherwise: you cannot remember a choice without storing it somewhere.

Without your yes, nothing else is stored in your browser, with one exception: if you start a conversation in the chat, your browser keeps the code of that conversation in sessionStorage under the name sk_chat, so that the conversation carries on if you move to another page. That is not a cookie, it goes nowhere, and it is gone as soon as you close the tab. No localStorage.

Statistics, if you allow them
If you say yes to statistics, we use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site and which pages they read. These two cookies are what that costs. If you say no, or say nothing, the script is not loaded and they are not there.

They are placed by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google processes that data on our behalf and may not use it for its own purposes; it may also be processed outside the European Union. If you withdraw your choice, we stop the measuring and delete these two cookies.
